A MC68020 version may be found at http://amicomsys.tibb.at AmiComSys is a program which you use to communicate with other people on a tcp/ip-net - e.g Internet. At the same time it make it easier to find people's IP-addresses and homepages. It uses AMarquee.library by Jeremy Friesner for most of it's network handling. Now you can say Hi! to your friends on the net, or just see if they are connected. You can: * send text messages * send chat requests * send WEB-requests. * transfer files. * have a public chat * have a private chat, with photos. * check your Pagoo message box. * advertise your homepage, ftp-site or IRC-server. Future updates will include more. Please put it in your Online-script or wbstartup drawer and enjoy ... AmiComSys requires amarquee.library v.48+ in LIBS:. Get it from the AMarquee-package - aminet:comm/net/AMarqueeX.xx.lha and Magic User Interface (MUI) version 3.8 or higher and NList.mcc by Gilles Masson, available at Aminet:dev/mui/MCC_NList0_85.lha and BetterString.mcc by Allan Odgaard. Included in the archive (MUI/libs/Toolbar.mcc). Does only work with Kickstart 3.0+/68020+. This is not used in the Kickstart 2.0/68000 version. optionally you may also use NewString.mcc by Rüdiger Sopp. (found in the Ibrowse-archive) or Textinput.mcc by Oliver Wagner (found at ftp://ftp.vapor.com/misc/textinput_13.xx.lzx) (kickstart 3.0+) Note that the above only apply if your friends is using AmiComSys, and have an Amiga. ( An IBM-PC-version of AMarquee.library would be nice, or better a java class :-)) Features: * Send text messages. * Includes a client list, which shows people which have logged in. * Send WEB- or Chat-requests. * Uses Magic User Interface (MUI). * A message history buffer, which saves all the received messages. * Logging * Arexx interface * File transmission. * Public chat (HotLine) * Private chat (PChat) * Friendsbook. * TAB- and ':'-nickname-expansion in chat-fields. * Every window is iconifiable separately from the MUI-application. * Send WWW, FTP, IRC -addresses to your WEB-browser, FTP-client respective AmIRC. * Optional string-gadget class. History changes: 1.20a (05.09.1998) ----------------- BUGFIX: Because of uninitialized memory the Events in the Friendsbook could automatically be activated when AmiComSys read in an old .friendsbook file created by AmiComSys version 1.19g. The only solution for the one which have used the 1.20 version is to go to the Friendsbook and the Events tab, and disactive "On Connect" and "On Disconnect" if you don't want to be notified when your friends connects or disconnects. Bug reported by Harry Samwel. Thanks! AmiComSys have problems to open on a screen width lower hight that 512 pixels. I recomend that people that have a screen of 640x256(200) to choose the NewIcons-style (20 colours) graphics set in the installation. Then go to the MUI-prefs, choose Toolbar, and then decrease most of the settings. For example Group Spcace is 20 by default, 5 is probably better. You could also choose a smaller font, or show the images without text below it. I have also implemented a little fix in this bugfix release that will place all buttons in one 8 button toolbar when the window refuse to open, because it doesn't fit. Users with a screen size lower than 640x512 have to set the ToolType LOWRESOLUTION in the AmiComSys to make AmiComSys always open up with the 8-button tooltype. If you don't set this your MUI-settings will be scrambled everytime AmiComSys is started :( It will also take significantly longer time to open up the window. I hope that I can provide you with a graphics set with smaller images in the future. Reported by Fredrik Zetterlund. Thanks! The whole application was deinconified when you granted access for a PChat Session. 1.20 (30.08.1998) ----------------- NEW: Added image-buttons. Drag & drop on the whole GUI in the main window. The GUI positions can be saved. The toolbars, message group and status group may be moved to another position than default! The support for pre 1.19c versions of AmiComSys were removed. You may now Drag & Drop clients from the Client List to the Friends Book. You may now Drag & Drop clients from the Client List to the Ignore List. Clients are now inserted alpabetically sorted into the Friendsbook and Ignore List. Also added a menu item. Entries->Sort. Now uses OpenURL.library if installed, to send HTTP://-URLs to your browser. Added restart to the settings menu. The program is now also automatically restarted when a configartion change require a restart. New configuration file format. Should be faster to read in. Old configuration file "AmiComSys.config" is automatically converted to the new format and saved to "AmiComSys.prefs". Person-oriented message history implemented. The picture that may show up in PChat is now inserted to the right. You set it back to former position, i.e below, in the Windows settings, Chat tab-PChat, Put Picture cycle. Enhanced the iconification settings. Now there will be no problem if you set one the iconification settings in the MUI-prefs. It's completely ignored by AmiComSys. New settings are: Hotkey for main window open/close and another hotkey for open/close the entire application, i.e. all windows at once. The CX_POPUP Tooltype you may set in the icon will override the Main Window Hotkey. The hotkeys now by default switch between iconified and uniconified state, just like MUI's default hotkey does. The iconify item in the MUI-menu, which may appear in the window frame, may now be used without any problems. So is the Iconify Application menu item in the project menu. AmiComSys may now open windows even though the whole application is iconified, which was the reason to replace MUI's default iconification mechanism with my own one, which also support iconification of single windows! (Just press the MUI-iconify button, which may appear in the window frame.) In addition to this it's also possible to set the position of the application and Main Window icon. New keyfiles and protection. Upgrades will be available. There are a couple of context menus here and there now (Client list, toolbars, other GUI-components, and in the Person-list in the Message History). The number of connected clients now show up in the help bubble you get by move the mouse pointer to the Client List and wait a while. Added Events to the Friendsbook. You may now get a notification when your friends connect or disconnect. Note: This is pretty experimental in this version. The System info on Version 1.20 users does look a little better now. It is now possible to switch off the send confirmation for sending via the Return-key (you press the Return-key in the message field to send the message). Go to the Windows-message requester tab- settings to change this. Only possible for registered users. You may press the email button in the Client Info to open up YAM. BUGFIX: Clients added to Friendslist, were not directly highlighted in the client list, if there email was not set to public. This only applies if you have set ClientList to highlight your friends. The ClientList was not updated after a removal or manual addition to the friendsbook. It will now be refreshed when you close the Friends- book window. May take a while if the net is lagging. If someone that you had added to the Ignore List was selected in the client list you were unable to send a multi-message. The Pagoo Check is working again. version 1.19: NEW: Added "Super-Ignore". You can ignore clients in the ClientList, HotLine and messaging by adding an entry to The AmiComSys Ignore List found in the Settings menu ->"Ignore users". By activating all options you may remove a certain client entirely from AmiComSys. Only registered users may ignore client messaging via the Ignore-List in the Ignore-list-window, but the less efficient one in the Network-settings still works. When Message ignore is activated the ignored client can't even get your Version-info or System-Info! This program is ShareWare. Version 1.20a-MUI (05.09.98) Copyright 1997-1998 Håkan Parting
